For a moment Ben just looks at you, as if waiting for you to say you’re joking. When you don’t, something shifts in his expression: not anger, but a kind of quiet disappointment.
“The Swift,” he says slowly. “You think I’ve been using the Swift to empty caches.” He lets out a long breath. “Do you know how loud that thing is? How visible? You can hear it coming from halfway across the Valley. If I wanted to steal from caches without being noticed, the Swift would be the last thing I’d use.”
He shakes his head. “Those sightings at the Ziggurats, I was checking black smokes from west, and Lunn was with me. Ask him if you don’t believe me.”
He looks at you steadily, no defensiveness in his voice, just weariness. “I spend my days moving supplies to people who need them. That’s what I do.” He glances back toward the Swift. “I hope you’ll keep looking. Whoever’s doing this is still out there.”
The accusation doesn't seem to hold. Perhaps you should gather more evidence before drawing conclusions. Return to Getting Started and continue your investigation.
