Boulder Field

As you finish restocking the cache near Boulder Field, something catches your eye. On a nearby rock outcropping, positioned as if to provide light while someone worked, you discover a strange apparatus. A lantern of sorts, fashioned from glass. Inside, suspended in what appears to be clear fluid, something glows with a soft, yellowish light. The fluid is in constant motion, swirling gently around whatever luminous thing dwells within, as if the lantern itself were somehow alive.

You recognize the craftsmanship. You’ve seen similar devices in the Arcology: bioluminescent apparatus of some kind. But this one feels... different. Personal. Well-used. The kind of thing someone might carry with them on their travels, treasuring its gentle, living light. Whoever left it here simply forgot to retrieve it.
