Mound of the Navigator

Near one of the emptied caches, you discover a pair of well-crafted hunting knives lying carelessly on the ground. They are carbonforged, excellent work, clearly belonging to someone who knows their value. Yet they rest discarded without a thought, as if whoever last handled them gave no consideration to their worth. Around the four empty caches, you notice wood shavings scattered about. Someone has been attempting to carve or create something, yet the knives’ blades are entirely unsuited for working bark or wood. They’ve been used roughly, without skill or understanding of their purpose.
